The National Institute of Research-Development in Environmental Protection competencies are:
- Research-development in the environmental engineering field (fundamental research, applicative research, advanced and technological development) and in social and humanist sciences.
- Development of the strategies and/or programmes in environmental field
- Environmental factors monitoring (air, soil, water, noise and biodiversity)
- Development and usage of Geographic Informational Systems (GIS), remote detection and remote sensing
- Mathematical, statistical and physical modelling of natural or anthropic phenomena and of those related with the environment having impact against the quality factors related with air, soil, water, noise and biodiversity
- Pollution risk and impact of anthropic activities evaluation against the quality of the environmental factors
- Prognosis studies of pollution phenomena or of greenhouse effect, of climatic changes and of ecologic disasters. Development of preventive solutions
- Other activities related with promoting or capitalization the research results and the technical and scientific prestige of the Institute
- Research-development into the specific domain of Delta of Danube biosphere, through its subunit, Institutul Naţional de Cercetare-Dezvoltare "Delta Dunării" - I.N.C.D.D.D. Tulcea
- Research-development into the specific domain of Black Sea biosphere, through its subunit, Institutul Naţional de Cercetare-Dezvoltare Marina "Grigore Antipa" - I.N.C.D.M. Constanta.
During 2010 – 2013, INCDPM has participated as coordinator or partner in national and international scientific projects as follows: 1490 national projects, 115 international projects, studies/analisis/environment reports/impact evaluations
The dissemination was performed through: 93 national and international conferences, 47 scientific publications, 21 books, 8 patents, scientific reports etc.
The INCDPM researchers are interested to continuous self-development, participate to dissemination activity, these being an essential condition for professional promotion of them and implicit for promotion of Institute’s prestige. Also, there is a special concern for mentoring activity, to improve the knowledge degree of young researchers in order to increase the technical and scientific quality of the developed works.
The standard of INCDPM is to empower and to aware every researcher for the technical and scientific results they are obtaining.
